Naturally, CBD is marketed as a highly attractive option for millennials to address a number of ‘urban diseases’. Here at C-Hemp, we believe in the inclusivity of CBD to treat issues of all ages. There’s no ‘age of expiry’ when it comes to CBD! Learn how you can introduce non-invasive CBD to a parent or even grandparents — and how it might do them more good than you think.    —   Traditionally, the conversation around CBD has always been touted by the millennial population in the name of wellness, stress relief and anxiety treatment. Whilst CBD marketing have consistently appeared to drive millennial sales with quirky taglines and modern branding, there’s been no reason to leave our Gen X and boomers behind in the process. Whilst preference and influence are a huge factor for millennials in their purchasing decisions, word of mouth and knowledge drive older generations such as Gen X and boomers. This segments the CBD marketing strategy between online advertising to drive leads, versus content marketing to empower information.    Here at C-Hemp, we believe in the power of education. In a 2021 study, it was found that 18% of those not already using CBD are unable to make a purchase due to lack of information. Whilst the glorious internet has simplified our ability to be resourceful and educate ourselves, it’s no surprise that older generations have been slower to catch on.   Still, boomer interest in CBD usage have not appeared to falter. In a U.S. study analysing 1.3 million social media posts around CBD, it was found that more and more content emerged steadily within this one-year period, with millennials and baby boomers representing 41% of the conversation respectively. This places the generation of 54 to 72 years old as one of the loudest voices in the market on par with those aged 22 to 37! Surprisingly, the middle child Gen X represented the remaining 18% of these findings. Whilst CBD has been associated with various different benefits, the most popular phrases were found to be “pain management”, “anxiety and depression” and “health and beauty”.    So, boomers are buzzing about CBD. However, knowledge gaps are standing in the way. Whilst millennials seek validation and advocacy for trying new CBD products, boomers are more reliant on access to information. More studies have revealed that boomer use and interest in CBD have tied closely to that of millennials’, making it more imperative for us to provide resources for our older generations when it comes to something new like CBD.    In fact, it should be a no-brainer that CBD is highly beneficial for older people. As we grow old, joint pains, skin conditions and sleep-related issues tend to emerge. Traditionally, over-the-counter medications have always been promoted by doctors and medical professionals, despite medication often failing to prove to be a sustainable approach on its own. Faster recovery time that last with minimal side effects have been found by numerous studies on CBD usage, and the science behind the endo-cannabinoid system has never been more thoroughly demonstrated. The embrace of CBD has been revolutionary over the recent years, with the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) declaring the removal of CBD in their 2018 list of prohibited substances, and no longer a banned substance for world athletes.    —   Whether you find yourself in the Gen Z, Gen X or boomer group, we believe that CBD should be inclusive to everybody. With one of the most expansive ranges in Hong Kong, we pride ourselves in limiting the delivery of CBD benefits to vape or smoke devices. From oil tinctures to edibles, C-Hemp carries a suite of ingestibles that vary from use to concentration. Additionally, the topical range has recently expanded to everything skincare to even hygiene. Whilst ingestibles may be most daunting to use, there is a journey for every CBD user. Most find themselves starting with topical products to gradually ease into their own routines. Hear it from a 70 year old avid user of C-Hemp:   “I am currently 70 years old and I haven’t had a good sleep since the 80s. I’ve tried different doctors and tried both Chinese and western medication for remedy – in the end I just became very dependent on sleeping pills to fall asleep. It started from 2-3 pills a day; and the number of pills just kept increasing – it got to the point where 5 to 10 pills were not enough for me anymore – I got addicted and immune to it, and it's been 20 years where I fall asleep only during day time. I felt very depressed, sad and helpless, being addicted to sleeping pills. Last year my daughter introduced to me a CBD sleeping product – it was in oil droplet form. After trying CBD oil for the first time, I continuously used it and noticed that I can fall asleep comfortably and the feeling was stable – everyday a full dropper (around 1ml) makes me fall asleep peacefully and have a good night sleep and wake up feeling well rested.  For nearly a year now, I feel so relieved to no longer need to consume a substance to have a good night sleep. I have also been falling asleep naturally even though sometimes I forget to drip the CBD oil. I believe in CBD products and think that they are natural, compared to sleeping pills – I really recommend it to people who have sleeping problems like myself – it doesn't matter what age you are.”   Although such a large range of products can be intimidating to navigate, C-Hemp circles back to the power of education to empower our users. It’s also partial to why we started this blog from day one. Everyone deserves the chance to learn about CBD!

We’ve all been there, in the late (or early) hours of the evening having had one too many. As we get older, our body no longer adapts to loss of sleep or burnout as easily as our youthful days — but this doesn’t mean you should bid your party days behind you! Learn how CBD can help you unwind after a long night, and more importantly, gear you up for the next day ahead!   It’s Saturday night… or is it Sunday morning? Your heart thumps as the echo of last night’s music still rings in your head. Despite reclaiming a few precious hours of sleep, there’s nothing quite like a banging hangover compromising your daily routine. We’ve all been there: the fatigue, weakness, thirst, headache and uncontrollable irritability… but what is a hangover, and how can CBD potentially help to combat these undesirable consequences?   The science behind your hangover   In most cases of hangovers, alcohol is often the reason. However, alcohol consumption in situations where mild dehydration, disrupted sleep or inflammation are also pertinent will be sure to amplify your nauseating symptoms. These vary from person to person, but an agreeable list can be found here:    Fatigue Weakness Thirst Headaches Irritability Nausea  Sweating Increased blood pressure, etc.   Sometimes lasting over 24 hours, these symptoms may be so unbearable it’ll force you to rethink partying ever again. Alcohol is an extremely irritative substance to introduce to the body, and the specific culprit is known as acetaldehyde, a toxic by-product created when our liver metabolizes to excrete alcohol. The higher the acetaldehyde count, the ‘worse’ we perceive our hangover level to be. The longer-term effects of consistent hangovers are significant too: for example, a study in 2017 conducted by the Sleep Disorders and Research Center draws a parallel between alcohol and restlessness, leading to daytime sleepiness and decrease in nighttime sleep quality. Since alcohol is a depressant, consumption can majorly disrupt our endocrine system, where hormone regulation and communication with our body takes place, potentially leading to feelings of anxiety, depression and mood swings.    So, what can I do?   Unfortunately, there are no quick cures or DIY remedies for a hangover. But don’t fret! We wouldn’t be here without an answer for you. Managing a hangover is a patient game, and an ‘unwinding’ process can help prevent as little disruptions to your daily routine as possible. All you need to unwind with are water and electrolytes, food and sleep, aka the pillars of life.    Firstly, alcohol is a diuretic, meaning you must be seriously dehydrated after a long night. Make water your best friend. Or better yet, electrolytes: these are usually found in sports drinks, helping to rehydrate you much faster than plain water. Regardless of how nauseous you might be feeling, food can also be more helpful than you think. Eating helps to keep your blood sugar up, and protein-rich foods will keep you fuller for longer. Plus, who doesn’t love a bit of comfort food?    When it comes to sleep and rest, CBD is here for all your needs. Going back into your basic lazy Sunday routine can be a challenge when it’s hard to feel any peace. Research suggests that CBD aids a number of sleep disorders with similar symptoms such as insomnia, REM sleep behavior disorder and excessive daytime sleepiness disorder. Together with reducing anxiety, CBD can help set the tone for sleep for your body, ensuring the sleep you do get is quality over quantity.    Besides its calming effects, CBD also has links to the endocrine system, in which alcohol can majorly disrupt our hormonal balances, affecting our sleep, stress, mood and memory. CBD can help to stimulate hormones including insulin, cortisol and melatonin to alleviate your hangover-related damages — making it an effective and natural method to manage your symptoms as part of the unwinding process. Slowly, but surely.    — Although there are different ways to consume CBD, here’s where CBD gummies can come in handy! With added melatonin to drive drowsiness, our SNOOZE Sleep Gummy Squares were designed to combat sleeplessness in the form of clearly-dosed and easy to consume gummy candy. Start with one, before working your way up to your desired dosage. Plus, who doesn’t enjoy a sweet treat? Make CBD your new hangover hack to keep partying away!

Making way for the introduction to our brand new CBD Gummy Squares! Our first expansion into the edibles range, treat your sweet tooth cravings with a late-night bite that will send you straight to deep sleep. Understand how our edibles fare differently to our tinctures, and why they might work better for you!   —   Say hello to our berry-flavoured SNOOZE Sleep Gummy Squares: a refreshing dessert alternative that also delivers all the best of CBD. Their chewy texture and balanced sweetness will satisfy your anti-savoury cravings, pairing perfectly with the wild berry flavour enticed in red and blue. These two colours contain 750mg CBD and 1350mg CBD respectively, both of which also include 90mg of added melatonin for the best snooze combo! Whilst dosage will vary from person to person, it’s worth noting that each gummy contains the equal amounts of CBD based on your potency of choice, making it much easier for you to figure out the exact CBD dosage you may need.    How do ingestibles/tinctures and edibles compare in terms of CBD potency, efficacy and purpose?    When choosing between ingestible such as our oil tinctures, versus edibles, not all factors may be subject to preference. Whilst both tinctures and gummy squares are similarly discreet for consumption, these methods are also great entry point products as they tend to deliver more subtle yet sustained effects. However, oil tinctures are typically higher in CBD concentration — such as our RELAX CBD Sleep Oil with 3000mg CBD — and measured using a dropper, making it harder to measure exactly how much CBD you’re taking. On the other hand, gummy squares are dosed exactly as marketed, allowing you to take a more controlled or consistent amount for every sleep. Therefore, when it comes to potency, oil tinctures may be more appropriate for intermediate CBD users or those who have consumed CBD in the past.    However, when it comes to the efficacy of delivering CBD benefits, oil tinctures do fare faster than edible products. Where gummies require some time to be broken down by our digestive and metabolic systems, oil tinctures are comparatively instant. Whilst every individual experience is unique to their own, the benefits of oil tinctures can be felt as fast as within 5 minutes, where edibles may require up to 45 minutes. Depending on your use and need for instant gratification, this might be another important factor for consideration when deciding between oils and edibles.    Both our ingestible and edibles were designed to serve as a sleep aid, but these CBD products can also be multi-purposeful in alleviating anxiety and managing pain too! CBD doesn’t have to cater to one need or purpose. The product should work for you and not limit you. In fact, where CBD has yet to prove any harm, many pharmaceutical aids in the form of ‘sleeping pills’ have been demonstrated to exhibit side effects such as daytime drowsiness and sleep walking.    Our sleep oils and gummy squares were formulated to compliment melatonin perfectly, another ingredient that’s more universally recognised as a sleep aid. Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone in the body that exists to signal your body when it’s time to sleep. Whilst this is the case for everyone, production of melatonin can also be disrupted by stress, light pollution, insomnia or alcohol, leading to sleep issues. We all know that a healthy sleep cycle is key to productive waking hours, yet so many of us underestimate the power of sleep.    —  Our long-awaited SNOOZE Gummy Squares is finally here, and C-Hemp’s first edible alternative. For those of you who already enjoy our oil tinctures, we have no doubt that you’ll indulge in our sweet treats too! Also the perfect gift for someone seeking the most discreet CBD routine, give them the best experience of all — restful sleep — that’s also easily shareable. Sweet dreams!

Managing pain can vary across so many spectrums. Tackling the problem is often hard to navigate, but an easy way might be to start topically. Whether you’re dealing with post-injury pain or the constant migraine, learn how CBD can help you achieve a better relationship with both your mind and body.    Pain is typically a discomforting symptom signaled by your body to let you know there’s something wrong. There are different types of pain that vary by factors such as duration, sensation and severity, but all in all, it comes down to 2 types: acute and chronic. Whilst the former refers to pain that occurs suddenly due to a disease, condition or injury, the latter refers to pain that is often untreatable and much more severe. Some examples of chronic pain include:   Migraines Cancer Nerve problems Back pain   Chronic pain can typically lead to mental health complications such as anxiety, depression or a fear of re-injury, limiting your social and physical capacity. Some may consider the impact your chronic pain has on your lifestyle to be the determining factor of how serious your level of pain is, rather than the subjective level of pain itself.    Around 20.4% of adults in the U.S. are reported to be affected by chronic pain every year, making this diagnosis one of the most common reasons for seeking care. In a study conducted based on the population within North Carolina’s rural, suburban and urban areas, it was found that over-the-counter medication, prescription non-narcotics and non-medication therapy were amongst the most popular treatments for urban dwellers.    Given the severity and longevity of chronic pain conditions, it’s difficult to avoid using medication as treatment. Although medication can range from OTC options such as Panadol to antidepressants, last resort treatment such as opioids are still the biggest driver behind the highest prescription-related deaths in the U.S. This has kickstarted an emerging and much-needed incentive to find non-addictive ways of addressing pain, particularly chronic, in a fight towards more holistic care.     On the forefront of why CBD was introduced to the market in the first place, pain management using cannabidiols remains one of the leading reasons why users choose this form of treatment. Since it is non-psychoactive, CBD is low-risk with minimal addictive side effects. Moreover, studies have shown that a tolerance for CBD does not grow overtime, indicating that higher doses would not be needed on a long-term basis. These promising findings have all led to the widespread use of CBD we see and know today: infused in our daily skincare, as a late-night gummy bear snack, and even in lifestyle products such as lubricants!     With research supporting its anti-inflammatory uses, pointing to its potential to reduce joint or physical pain, specific symptoms from conditions such as migraines and neuropathic pain have all said to benefit from some form of CBD treatment. By stimulating adenosine, a neurotransmitter that inhibits our pain sensations, CBD is able to ‘distract’ our brain from feeling discomforting sensations by flooding adenosine. Also an antipsychotic, cannabidiols can ease mental symptoms of anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) holistically. Together with its promising nature as a sustainable, long-term treatment, more and more people are turning to CBD as a more accessible, inclusive and user-friendly form of treatment.    How and why we use CBD greatly affects the potential of different treatments and delivery types too. Topical treatments are easy to use with a longer onset, whilst oral CBD may be daunting, but come with immediate effects. If you’re new to CBD, we recommend trying out topical solutions as a way to combat acute pain related to nerves or an injury. Lotions and creams are the way to go here. With this in mind, build your way up before investing in an oral concentrate such as our gummy bears or tinctures to combat chronic problems of more severity.    —   Pain is a difficult road to navigate, and if you suffer from chronic pain, we sincerely hope you find CBD to be an alternative coping mechanism for you.

Ring in the new year with not only a better you, but better yet: a smarter you. 2021 brought us breakthrough vaccines, private space ventures and a glimpse of a future Metaverse… who's to say what to expect for 2022? As CBD begins to popularise, find out how this powerhouse ingredient can be optimised to help you reach your new year resolutions!    2021 has been a whirlwind of a year. After we’ve taken enough time to reflect on the past months, don’t forget to start building that annual list of new year resolutions to kick off 2022! Whether you’re the self-disciplined Type A or find that your commitment issues get in the way of your goals, we’ve rounded up a helpful guide to how CBD can help you conquer some of your resolutions for a healthier and productive lifestyle.    New Years Resolution #1: Achieve Work-Life Harmony   Something often overlooked at, having a work life balance means having a healthy relationship between your career or business simultaneously with your personal life. If your job is demanding, your stress levels can naturally increase, and without a defence mechanism — you’ll likely lead to burnout or anxiety. A study found that workers who regularly overworked for 3 hours or longer had a 60% increased likelihood of heart-related problems than those who did not.    So how can CBD help? It’s no surprise that CBD plays a major role in alleviating stress and anxiety-related issues (being some of the most common uses), where studies have demonstrated strong cases for CBD as an alternative for psychiatric medicine or treatment. To dive into CBD use in work-related situations, take a look at our previous blog post here.    New Years Resolution #2: Get 8 Hours of Sleep   Sleep. Never underestimate the benefits of a good night’s rest! If you’re one to slip into irregular sleep patterns, insomnia or have trouble falling asleep in general, CBD can be a solution to address sleeplessness. Research has shown CBD’s effectiveness through reports of better sleep from majority participants, and accrediting its use to treat related disorders such as anxiety and pain.    Our ability to fall asleep is just as important as our ability to stay asleep too. If you’re one to have nightmares or find yourself waking up in the middle of the night, CBD has also been demonstrated to improve our sleep REM cycles. In a study between patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease, hindering their ability to achieve sufficient sleep, CBD was found to successfully control this hindrance without side effects.    New Years Resolution #3: Smash Your Career Targets Your career matters too! If your work takes a spot in your this year’s goals, you can find support through use of CBD when you’re looking for downtime. As a non-addictive and non-psychoactive substance, likelihood of CBD addiction is very little to none. Besides the purpose of relaxation, CBD has also been found to help with focus: by increasing our levels of serotonin in the brain, our body is therefore able to act with increased alertness and think with more clarity.    After all, you’re likely to achieve a better and more productive self only when you’re well-rested: thanks to CBD’s soothing and calming effects, as well as its ability to improve sleep and rest, you’re more likely to perform better in the workplace.    New Years Resolution #4: Take Care of Yourself   We’ve touched on CBD to aid our sleep, stress and productivity. At the end of the day, this all comes down to how we take care of ourselves. Even if we’re not busy addressing existing problems such as burnout, we should still take a preventative approach down the line.    CBD is a great self-care method for a lot of reasons: it’s a non-invasive approach to incorporate into our routines, can be very affordable and user-friendly to use. We’re starting to see CBD integrated in a lot of our typical ‘self-care’ products already — in our skincare, masks and beauty treatments — and this demand is expected to continue soaring. Topical CBD is just one of the ways to deliver its benefits without breaking the bank or introducing unfamiliar products to our lifestyle.    —   Happy new year, and may 2022 be more relaxing, content and full to all of you!

As the season changes, so does our skin-and while this changes, so should our skincare. Typically, we lose moisture when the climate gets drier and colder, but what does this loss of water mean for our skin, and how should we manage ‘seasonal’ skincare? Learn how CBD-infused ingredients can help your skin adapt to changes, all year round.   Now that it’s cooler, a lot of us might be feeling the drop in temperature simply from the texture of our skin. Although our skin type doesn’t actually change by season, it’s still not totally immune to environmental changes. If you’re acne-prone, you likely suffer the worst during the sweltering summer months. The explanation is simple: heat and humidity causes increased sweat and oil production, also meaning more reasons for acne to flare up. The transitional period into the colder days is hugely influential too. As your skin adapts to the changing season, your skin barrier can therefore get ‘confused’ or rather, disrupted. This means higher susceptibility to inflammation and irritation, which translates to drier skin, loss of hydration and even cracks on the outermost layer. If you’re younger, this disruption to the skin barrier will likely amplify your existing problems like acne or inflammation, while you’re still at the peak hormonal stages. As you get older, you’re likely to resonate more with aging-related problems such as texture, lack of suppleness from collagen, and dryness as it gets cooler.     This loss of hydration is actually a more common issue than you think, affecting skin of all types and ages. Generally, loss of hydration is what we experience as ‘dehydrated skin’, rather loss of moisture causes ‘dry skin’ conditions. Dehydrated skin lacks water, whereas skin that are not moisturised lacks oil. And guess what? This means even oily skin can be dehydrated too! There’s a crucial difference in hydration and moisture, although both are equally important. As the season gets colder, oily skin can experience the brunt of it too, citing lack of hydration which signals the body to produce even more sebum.    If hydration means you need more water, and dryness needs more oil, how do we translate these learnings to our skincare regimen? Typically, face creams are our go-to when it comes to anything dehydrated or dry-related. Although lots of moisturisers or creams do a bit of both, it’s important to note what you do need to treat. Hydrating ingredients are typically known as ‘humectants’, whilst moisturizing ingredients are known as ‘occlusives’. Simply using a hydrating lotion may not be enough, as water is easily lost to climate and environmental triggers such as low temperatures and even air-conditioning. This loss of hydration is what we call ‘transepidermal water loss’, also known as ‘TEWL’. Water will leave our skin when our skin barrier faces disruption, but ideally we can trap all this hydration through ‘moisture’: anything occlusive or thick enough to seal all the hard-promised hydration in. Generally speaking, the thicker the texture of your skincare, the higher the occlusivity, and the less likely your serums will end up being lost to air. This is why the steps of a skincare routine goes by texture: from lightweight hydration to creamy moisture. It’s also why choosing the right moisturiser or face cream is incredibly important!    Seasonal and temperature changes can also be particularly troublesome for those with eczema and psoriasis. Some of us may have experience with steroid creams like hydrocortisone, widely used to treat conditions such as eczema. But for some, they could come with unwanted side effects, including dependence, addiction and withdrawal symptoms using topical steroids, taking weeks to years to resolve. It’s estimated about 12% of those prescribed with steroids suffer from topical steroid addiction in Japan. A study shows that 50-60% of people who tried using CBD cream for eczema relief reported symptoms improvement. Regardless, you may want to consult with a healthcare provider to explore this as a treatment option.    Alternatively, CBD is a treatment option readily available without medical prescription. CBD plays an integral role in both hydration and occlusivity in our face creams. Not only does it provide moisture, it helps to regulate oil production to prevent excess by reducing inflammation. It also helps to repair the skin barrier function through localised interaction when applied on the skin, and is generally a non-irritating ingredient. On top of CBD, we incorporate additional phytochemicals from traditional medicine worldwide: babchi oil, acai oil, passion fruit oil, sunflower seed oil, and calendula oil for a plant-based approach to combating pollutants, seasonal dryness and aging.  Whilst RESTORE has a CBD dosage of 300mg and REPAIR has a much higher amount of 1000mg, the choice is yours when it comes to approaching your own seasonal skincare routine. Find the one that works for you, as no skin is made equal!

Whether you’re new or all too familiar with CBD, there are more ways to explore the delivery of its benefits than you know. Find the best way to integrate CBD into your routine to optimise its performance, to suit your own personal needs.    It’s 2021, and there’s a ton of different CBD options out there in the market. Infused in our skincare, food, coffee, supplements, and more, we’re moving to a place where CBD is becoming more budget-friendly and readily available. Whether you smoke it, apply it on your skin or take a few drops orally-the different ways you can reap the benefits of CBD varies too. So which way is the best way for you?   In this article, we compare ingestibles versus topical application. In doing so, we measure this against factors such as ease of use, potency, purpose and of course, affordability.    INGESTIBLES   When it comes to anything ‘ingestible’, oil tinctures are arguably the most convenient and effective way to deliver the benefits of CBD. Typically in dropper form, oral CBD scores high in convenience: a few drops held under the tongue does the trick! Packaged in a small bottle, it’s also easily portable for use on-the-go.    Potency speaking, it all comes down to bioavailability: the concentration of CBD that actually takes effect in your system. Despite oil tinctures recording lower rates of bio-absorption (up to 20%), as opposed to vaping, which records some of the highest bioavailability rates of around 30%-oils fare better in terms of duration of potency, known as ‘mean residence time’. This refers to how long the cannabinoid linger in your bloodstream. Simply put, oils will take longer to penetrate the endocannabinoid system, whilst it has a much more sustainable duration of at least a few hours- as opposed to vaping, which lingers in the body for a much shorter period of time.    Depending on your reason for using CBD, ingestibles tend to be best for promoting sleep, relaxation, alleviating chronic pain, anxiety reduction, amongst other benefits. Oils often have the highest dosages available in the market too, ranging in the thousands of milligrams-ideal if you need higher concentrations to address more serious complications.    Since the concentration of CBD is relatively high in oils and tinctures, prices are naturally higher too. If you’re looking to splurge on a high-performing, easy to use and effective CBD product, try our UNWIND or RELAX formula: a gentle, yet potent, straightforward solution for sleep, relaxation, and pain alleviation.    TOPICALS   Topically applied CBD can come in many forms from lotions, salves to balms, and serve different purposes such as skincare benefits or joint relaxation. Also easy to use and almost as discreet as ingestible oils, topical CBD differs slightly from ingestibles in the way it delivers the benefits of CBD. To start, external applications are comparably more manageable and lower on the commitment scale, especially for any first time users feeling intimidated by CBD. Use can also be built up to the right amount, easy to control and never too daunting!   Topical CBD has a reasonable biosorption rate especially in its ability to pass our digestive and organ tracts to address chronic and acute pain, skin disorders as well as inflammatory skin diseases. Highly recommended for anti-aging, inflammation and itchiness, the product variety for topical use can also be incredibly diverse and inclusive for all skin types.    With the wide range of CBD skin care available, it can be hard to find something that works for you. At C-Hemp, we offer face creams and body lotions in different formulations for a more holistic and customised approach: try our CALM or REFRESH body lotions for something easily integratable in your routine. Body skincare is often overlooked; don’t let it spiral to long-term problems that’ll become hardly manageable down the road!    With that in mind, topical CBD has proven to be effective to address sleep-related issues too. A testimonial from one of our CALM body lotion users described a significant improvement in restfulness, as someone who lives an active lifestyle both in and out of work:    “I was amazed at what my OURA ring data showed when I applied C-Hemp's CBD cream before bed. This seemed to improve the quality of my sleep, notably my deep restorative sleep, as well as the quantity without any groggy feelings in the morning. Makes my long days on my feet and hard workouts much more manageable. I'll be using this for the long term especially on those more stressful weeks. Thanks!”   - CBD as an ingestible or topical use varies in effectiveness, depending on your individual problems and needs. To compare, ingestible CBD is often used to address chronic problems such as insomnia or pain, hence the higher concentrations and direct absorption into the bloodstream. Topical use tends to treat more skincare or external-related situations, such as acne or joint pain. Whether you choose to try ingesting or topically applying CBD, there’s something out there for everyone! Find out more: /URL/

Modern problems require modern solutions. As we familiarise ourselves in an environment with air pollution, contaminated water, unwanted chemicals found in our food to even skincare, it’s no wonder why we’re starting to suffer some consequences — starting with the surface of our skin. Learn how CBD-infused skincare can help combat these unavoidable issues.   In continuation of the series, we explore our skin: the largest organ of our body and motive behind a monumental skincare market, with a projected worth of up to $189.3 billion by 2025. Some of us are said to be blessed with ‘good genes’ when it comes to skin, but not all of us are immune to the detrimental effects that come with living in an urban environment. If you live in a city, chances are you’ve been exposed to the many environmental stressors, air pollution, blue light and other factors that won’t sound unheard of to you.    These urban ‘triggers’ are also harmful to our skin, leading to issues like:  Premature aging Development of sensitivity (e.g. misuse or overdose of essential oils and fragrance)  Development of allergies (e.g. to over the counter ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide)  Cancer (from potential carcinogens such as parabens and formaldehyde)    It might not matter how much you spend on skincare, or how elaborate your routine might be, when all of the said issues are in fact, also linked to typical skincare use in these recent times. Although skincare with wary ingredients — another topic completely —  can and should be avoided, we can’t avoid environmental aggressors (unless you decide to relocate away from all civilisation entirely).    92% of people live in a city that fails to comply with WHO standards.    Air pollution is thus, one of our biggest enemies in not only the air we breathe, but also due to the harmful interactions they have with our precious skin. It causes oxidative stress which may contribute to complications we know as rosacea, acne, dryness, visible irritations (e.g. redness) — all of which are skin sensitivities. We’re all blessed with a natural antioxidant network, helping us to decompose all the free radicals in our air that assault and further sensitise our skin. Being the outermost and most important organ for counteracting free radicals, our skin is constantly in touch with air pollution — hence without protection and maintenance — our antioxidant network will only decrease in ability overtime. As the free radicals continue to harm our skin, this decreased ability will hence no longer be able to rejuvenate or fully reverse the damage.    If we can’t avoid air pollution and all the other urban enemies out there, how do we equip our skin’s defence and offence?    Maintenance is therefore absolutely necessary. The way we should pick and choose our skincare is subject to its needs, and in the case of reinforcing our antioxidative skin abilities, CBD might be worth exploring as a topical use.    Effectively fighting free radicals, CBD is a naturally anti-oxidative ingredient, helping to interrupt its harmful accumulation, or transforming free radicals from environmental pollution. This generates a defensive barrier that retains itself over time. Paired with its anti-inflammatory effects, CBD as a skincare ingredient can benefit in decreasing excess sebum production, which supports acne management and oil control. Even better yet, CBD is an inclusive ingredient compatible across all skin types, from oily, dry to combination: a versatile and skin-friendly option.    Along with our antioxidative network, we also have a natural endocannabinoid system that recognises CBD; these then bind to their receptors so that the ingredient can do its job properly. Essentially, CBD-infused skincare is personalisation at its best. Your endocannabinoids send the right signals to your skin to complete the right task: whether that’s prevention of transepidermal water loss (TEWL), repair of the skin barrier function, or anti-aging effects — CBD is an all-encompassing solution that treats all these areas.   If you’re someone new to CBD, topical use like skincare might be a great start. To conveniently integrate into your routine, we suggest trying our Restore or Repair Face Cream containing broad spectrum CBD, allowing you to reap all the benefits of different cannabinoids for maximum optimisation. Perfect for a gift or a self-care moment, our Hemptation Facial Mask is an effective alternative that is fast-acting, quickly delivering all the CBD benefits while the sheet mask seals it all in.   If your current skincare regimen just isn’t working for you, the fault may lie in the formulated ingredients — instead, why not try out CBD to help address your skin concerns for a change?

It’s easy to feel defeated at the end of a long WFH day. With the pandemic still at large, a lot of us have switched to a remote working lifestyle for good. When our place of productivity and space for relaxation are conflicted, it’s hard to find peace. CBD can help you unwind in your own home even if you can’t leave it.    What’s your WFH situation like? After many months of adjusting to working and sleeping in the same cave on repeat, life can get tedious, monotonous and frankly, a little boring. Whether you’re starting to adjust or just returning to the old office space now, we have to admit: WFH wasn’t for everyone. Along with restrictions on travel and social life, 53% of American adults have had their mental health negatively impacted attributing to factors such as stress.    You’re not alone on the WFH boat where energy crashes and feelings of being stuck, uncreative or uninspired might come at you wave after wave. But there are ways we can facilitate this never-ending monotonous routine: i.e. unwinding after a long day.    After a long day of limited physical interactions and stress, how do you begin to unwind? Did you know that adapting to working from home has contributed to an increased amount of workload of two hours on average? It’s difficult to instil a routine when you’re stuck in the same environment all day — make sure you stick to the regular 9 to 5 hours and unwind when it’s time to feel a sense of completion. There are different habits to unwind from a long day such as logging off, getting outdoor time (even if it’s at night!), getting some exercise in… or CBD.    If time is gold and you can’t afford to compensate with exercise, CBD can help. Working in sync with our endocannabinoid system, CBD interacts with the receptors and enzymes within it to ensure our internal bodily functions continue running smoothly. For example, CBD has been shown to aid muscle recovery through the encouragement of more restful sleep patterns, during which the most active tissue repair occurs. All those hours sitting on your butt better be more rewarding than painful. Try our CBD Gummies for the perfect post-meal ‘dessert’ to kickstart your unwinding process. A reaction time of around half an hour, it can help to alleviate stress gradually in a pace that works best for you.    Another way to unwind is to unplug, of course. Scheduling ‘downtime’ for yourself is a great way to unwind from a day’s work. Any agitation or stress left from work can be hard to rid of, affecting the quality and duration of your sleep. Sleep can boost our immune system, alertness and emotional resilience. 40% of workers in a study have rated sleep to be the most important factor for their career performance. There have been countless studies, all within the last decade, linking CBD to positive sleep habits, including sleep induction, duration and quality including decreasing the chance of nightmares and promoting deeper sleep cycles. Researchers have promoted the effectiveness of CBD because it directly tackles the “root causes of insomnia”, many of which are linked to poor mental or environmental health. By name, our Unwind Oil Tincture is a potent formula designed with the perfect dropper for accuracy. Perhaps it’s the perfect gift for the workaholic in your life, or something to treat your colleague — try our melatonin-combined oil for the best sleep recipe.    If you’ve already tried and tested different methods to unwind from your tedious WFH routine, CBD might be worth a shot. There are ways to bring joy to your nighttime routine in a way that doesn’t require disrupting your entire day. CBD has been recorded to alleviate side effects such as anxiety, stress and pain. If any of these problems have a tendency to resurface in the latter half of your day, consider a taste of our CBD Gummies or PM Oil Tinctures here!

Naturally, we’re always seeking ways to remedy our lifestyle for productivity, relaxation and pain relief. As we begin to deepen our understanding of CBD, why should you incorporate this into your routine?  Whether life in the pandemic-riddled 2021 turned out to be an unexpected fantasy, or pure, utter wreckage, one thing’s for sure: times are rough. We live in a hustle culture where stress aggressors can lead to spiralling mental health, and later, issues like skin issues like acne or insomnia down the road. Although we may not be able to change the ‘rise and grind’ hustle lifestyle, instead, we find ourselves trying to seek out other coping methods.  Caffeine is one of the most overused coping methods in the world. How many of you are addicted to caffeine? Be honest. You wake up, and the first thing you look forward to is a freshly brewed cuppa. Although caffeine has been associated with lots of positive benefits as an antioxidant, it is the most widely used drug worldwide. We seek caffeine for productivity, but like everything, caffeine has a downside. Overuse can lead to withdrawals, intoxication and other disorders that affect everything from attention span and sleep. More than 90% of adults in the US rely on caffeine everyday for productivity.    On the other hand, CBD might be a remedy that might be more rewarding than you think. Here’s five reasons why:   Stress Research has suggested that CBD relieves stress and anxiety by counteracting the brain damage that causes chronic stress. To understand this, we have to get to know our serotonin levels: this is a crucial hormone that helps stabilise our mood, well-being and happiness. If these hormones are well-balanced, we are naturally able to carry out daily activities like sleeping and eating with a better state of mind. Brain scans have revealed how CBD works to influence our CB1 and CB2 receptors which alters our serotonin levels, acting as a catalyst for healthier well-being.    Mood When we talk about our mood, we typically mean our state of mind, or the alleviation of negative symptoms from depression or anxiety. Those who suffer depression are likely to have lower serotonin levels, and therefore imbalanced hormones. Since 2014, CBD has found to exhibit antidepressant and anti-anxiety effects that have a positive effect on our serotonin levels. This means CBD can be a great alternative to long-term medication, one that doesn’t require long-term commitment, whilst still generating a fast and sustained effect. It’s normal for our mood to shift throughout the day, and CBD ingestibles can be used daily while giving you the ability to conveniently dose yourself, little by little.    Rejuvenation Although CBD is great for leveraging relaxation, it’s also great for harnessing energy and focus. Fatigue and lack of concentration can often be grounded from symptoms of anxiety or poor sleep quality, and CBD alleviates both aspects by promoting relaxation and restful sleep. This ensures that your self-care habits are optimised at full potential, for the best levels of productivity possible. C-Hemp’s Unwind is formulated with melatonin to solve all your sleep-related problems, while enhancing wakeful clarity in the morning, leaving you as rejuvenated as possible for the rest of the day.    Wellness If you workout, suffer from conditions like arthritis or have abnormal bowel movement, CBD might be a solution for treating your symptoms. CBD is a natural source of anti-inflammation. Its anti-inflammatory properties help address a number of issues and trickier organs such as our gut and skin. Similar conditions like swelling, blood clots and pain are all inflammation-related problems. Recent research has shown how CBD can reduce inflammation by affecting molecules such as cytokines, which initiates our bodily inflammatory response.    Relief Finally, CBD has analgesic properties that help mitigate pain rooted from a number of different conditions. Despite the vast availability of pain-relieving substances out there, the World Health Organisation (WHO) claims that CBD poses no potential for addiction or abuse. In recent times, CBD has also been introduced as an alternative for more risky pain-relievers such as opioids for the protection of public health. The first FDA-approved CBD drug, Epidolex, is prescribed for treating epilepsy. Choose the right formula for you, whether it’s Unwind or Relax, for the best level of relief you need. Packaged in a precise dropper, dose with ease knowing that you’ll be consuming just enough.    Besides from five reasons alone, CBD has demonstrated to have incredibly positive effects seen in skincare, cancer treatment and even heart health properties. As research popularizes the use of CBD and more evidence for its benefits emerge, we can then learn to shift our mindset in a movement towards everyday CBD use. Global organisations such as theEU’s highest court andWHO have since declared CBD as “not a narcotic” nor an addictive substance. Give CBD a fair shot; it may just replace your notoriously favourite drug — caffeine — or go brilliantly hand-in-hand.
